Hector's San Blas Experience
Frequently Asked Questions
With how many people will I be on the tour?
We have very small groups and even leave if we only have 2 or 3 reservations for the tour. This ensures an intimate setting to learn about the culture and explore the islands without the feeling of being on a big tour boat. The maximum size of our groups is 8 and on average we have between 3 and 6 people.
How does the border control work?
Hector takes care of the border control and knows all the people working there, which helps you getting across the border smoothly. It is your own responsibility to make sure you are allowed to enter both Colombia and Panama, but apart from that, you don't have to worry about the administration of it all. Hector will guide you through stamping out of Colombia and stamping into Panama.

Remember that drugs are illegal in both Colombia and Panama. There might be dogs at the border control and you can get a prison sentence for not abiding the law.
Where do we sleep?
You will have accommodations on the island that consists of either a bed or a hammock. Traditionally, Gunas only sleep in hammocks, so to get the full experience, we will do the same! If you can not sleep in a hammock for medical reasons, please let us know in advance, so we can arrange a bed for you.
I have dietary restrictions, is that okay?
Hector takes all dietary restrictions into account. He has worked in tourism for many years and knows how to prepare vegetarian or vegan food and take allergies into account. The normal meals consist of a lot of rice, seafood, pasta, plantain, vegetables and coconut, but these meals can be adjusted however you'd like.
